A Wingman Ceremony is a personalised approach to your big day where you select a loved one to write and present the majority of the ceremony, while we step in solely for the official, legal elements.

How it works:

• Selection of a loved one: You choose someone significant to you — be it a family member, a close friend, or another important person in your lives — to take on the role of the ceremony host. This individual is tasked with crafting and delivering the ceremony narrative.

• Writing the ceremony: The chosen loved one works closely with you to write a ceremony that encapsulates your love story, values, and hopes for the future. This can include anecdotes, shared memories, personal vows, and any specific elements you wish to include, from cultural traditions to favorite poems or songs.

• Presenting the ceremony: On the wedding day, the loved one presents the ceremony they've crafted, leading the event by engaging with the guests, narrating the couple's story, and guiding the couple through their personalised vows and any special rituals or moments planned.

• Legal formalities: At the appropriate time during the ceremony, we step in to handle the legal requirements. This includes reciting the legally mandated statements and overseeing the signing of the marriage certificate. This ensures that while the ceremony itself is personalised and led by someone significant to you, the marriage is legally valid and recognised.

The Wingman Package is designed to provide couples with a personalised and intimate wedding experience, allowing a special someone in your life to play a central role in your ceremony, while we take care of the legal bits.

Here's how it works:

Step One:

You contact me.

• You fill in the Contact Us form.

Step Two:

I contact you.

• I make contact, usually within 24 hours of receiving the enquiry.

Step Three:

We set up a 100% free and obligation-free meeting.

• We find a time that works for both - we all have jobs in the real world - myself included.

• This is normally a video call over Microsoft Teams with you both, between 6pm and 10pm, Monday to Thursday, but can be flexible as needed.

Step Four:

You pick your host

• You pick a loved one to act as your ceremony host. This person will have the honor of leading your wedding ceremony, making it a truly personal experience.

Step Five:

Initial planning meeting

• We all get together and have an initial planning meeting where we go over your dreams for the ceremony.

In this session, we also complete:

• The Notice of Intended Marriage no less than a month before the ceremony date.

  • If there are special circumstance that prevent the one month period, there is the possibility to apply for a court ordered Shortening of Time.

• The Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage.

Step Six:

Host training session

I have a virtual training session with your chosen host where I go over everything they need to do to pull your script together and plan your ceremony.

Step Seven:

On the day

I arrive at the agreed time and location.

• Your host delivers the ceremony, and I jump in for the legal bits.

• We sign two copies of the Official Certificate of Marriage as well as the commemorative Wedding Certificate.

Step Eight:

After the ceremony

I lodge all the legal paperwork with Births, Deaths an Marraiges, and then let you know when its been officially registered, so you can apply for your Official Marriage Certificate.
